Kuzdere to Göynük Yayla: forest, Gedelme and the plateau

Updated: 2026-09-07

A forest day in the mountains behind Kemer, measured as two legs: Kuzdere to Gedelme 7 km, Gedelme to Göynük Yayla 9.2 km, or 17.6 km on the direct variant that skips the village. The path runs through cedar and pine at altitude with the Roman bridge and the small castle at Gedelme as the only stops.

The problem is beds. Gedelme, which used to host walkers, currently has no accommodation according to recent reports, and Göynük Yayla is summer pasture with rooms only by arrangement. This is one of the stages where a tent, or a plan made in advance, is the difference between a good day and a long one.

The bed problem in the eastern mountains

From here to Geyikbayırı the trail is thin on pensions and the ones that exist open and close without notice. It is the section where walkers most often write to ask what is actually open, and where the honest answer changes every season. If you are planning to walk it without a tent, ask us close to your dates and we will find out.
