Kaş Lycian Way guided trek: 5 days, 4 nights

This is the section of the Lycian Way this site is named for. In four walking days you cross the peninsula from Kaş to Kekova through Antiphellos, Aperlai, Teimiussa and Simena, three of them roadless and one of them under the sea, sleep in a village pension or a beach bungalow every night, and finish with the Kekova boat and the tombs of Myra. A licensed guide walks with you, a van carries your bags, and the agency has already argued with the pension owners so you do not have to.
It is the trek we recommend to people who write to us with a week and no tent. The walking is honest rather than heroic: 11 to 14 km a day, one proper climb, a lot of stony coast path and a boat at the end of the best day.

The agency’s booking terms
A deposit holds your place; the balance is paid to the agency before the start. Their cancellation terms, as published:
- Cancel 30 days or more before the start: full refund.
- Within 20 days: the deposit is kept.
- Within 15 days: the full tour fee is charged.
- Illness with a hospital report: refunded minus the non-refundable costs. A place can also be transferred to another person.
What the tour page does not tell you
- Day 3 starts with a transfer: the Limanağzı to Boğazcık stage, the longest and driest on the Kaş section, is skipped by road. If walking every metre matters to you, say so and we will ask about a private variant.
- Üzümlü İskelesi is a bungalow camp on the water, not a hotel. It is the best night of the trip in October; by late November it may be closed and the agency substitutes a pension, which we will tell you before you book.
- The departure shuttle on day 5 goes to whichever airport your flight leaves from. Antalya is about two and a half hours from Demre, Dalaman close to four.

Questions people actually ask
How hard is the Kaş 5-day trek?
Moderate rather than technical. Expect roughly 5–7 hours on walking days, rocky coastal ground, one proper climb and long descents. You do not need mountaineering experience, but you should be comfortable walking for most of a day.
What hiking gear do I need?
Hard-soled hiking shoes or boots, a small daypack, rain layer, light fleece, sun protection and swimwear. Trekking poles are optional but useful on rocky descents.
Do I carry all my luggage?
No. Your main bag is moved between accommodations; you walk with a daypack for water, lunch, a layer and personal items.
Can we swim during the trek?
Yes. The Kaş section passes several coves and the program allows swim breaks when the day and weather permit.
Is the Kekova boat included?
Yes. The route includes the boat over the Kekova sunken-city area and a Simena stop before continuing toward Andriake and Demre.
Can I skip a walking day?
Usually yes. The support vehicle can take you to the next accommodation when the route and road access allow it; tell the guide as early as possible.
Can this be booked as a private trek?
Yes. The operator also runs a private version on your own dates. Send the group size and dates and we will request the private quote.
Can the agency arrange hotels or a self-guided version instead?
Yes. Accommodation, luggage transfers and route logistics can be arranged without joining the guided group; ask for the self-guided option.
Do we sleep in Kaş before the first walk?
The fixed five-day program starts walking on day 1. If you are arriving from abroad, a night in Kaş before the start is the calmer option; the seven-day version includes that buffer.
What if I am travelling alone?
Solo travellers can join a group departure. A single-room supplement applies if you want your own room.
