Geyikbayırı to Antalya: the 2022 extension

Updated: 2026-09-07

The 2022 edition of the guidebook extended the trail from Geyikbayırı to the edge of Antalya, 18 km through Doyran and past the small site of Neapolis to Aşağı Karaman, where the city buses begin. It is a modest stage after the mountains and its value is symbolic: the Lycian Way now runs city to city, Fethiye to Antalya.

We have not found measured figures for it beyond the guidebook’s 18 km. It is the one stage on this page written entirely from other people’s accounts, and we will replace this text when we have walked it.

Arriving in Antalya

Aşağı Karaman is on the city bus network; the old town of Kaleiçi is the natural place to finish, with the harbour, the Hadrian gate and a great many people who have no idea what you have just done. The airport is on the east side of the city. If you are coming back to Kaş to rest, it is three and a half hours on the coast bus and we will happily tell you where to eat when you get here.
