Faralya to Kabak: the short stage before the mountains

The shortest stage on the western coast and a deliberate one: Kabak is where walkers rest before the climb to Alınca and the long waterless stretch that follows. The main path measures 4.8 km and takes a little over two hours. The variant that drops to Kabak beach and climbs back up is about 9.8 km and closer to five.
Most people combine it with the previous or the next stage. Faralya to Alınca in one day is a common and reasonable plan for anyone fit, as long as you leave with full bottles.

Should I stay in Kabak or push on to Alınca?
Stay if you want the beach. Kabak is a closed valley with a sand-and-pebble cove at the bottom and a village of camps at the top, and it is the last easy swim before Patara. Push on if you are short of days: Alınca is only 6 km further, though it is a hard 6 km with 875 m of climbing, and there is less to do there once you arrive.
Either way, fill up at the Kabak fountain. It is the last reliable running water until the mosque at Bel.

Is Kabak beach on the Lycian Way?
The main path stays above it. The longer variant goes down to the beach and back up, adding around 5 km and a lot of steps.
Is there a bus from Kabak?
A minibus runs to Fethiye through Faralya a few times a day. Ask at your camp for the timetable, which changes with the season.
