The eastern third of the Lycian Way is the part walkers are told to fear: long stages, thin water, pensions that may or may not be open. This trek takes the four best of those stages, walked east to west from Antalya, and puts a guide, a van and a booked bed under each of them. Phaselis and its three harbours, the coast to Çıralı, the climb over Musa Dağı from Olympos, and the lighthouse at Gelidonya, which is the finest single walk on the whole trail.

Two of the days are over 20 km and one climbs 720 m. This is the trek for people who have walked before and want the empty end of the coast, not the introduction.

## Day by day

- Day 1: Antalya to Kemer, Phaselis to Tekirova — 6 km, +100 m, easy. Night: Hotel, Tekirova. Shuttle from the airport, the three harbours of Phaselis, a short walk to Tekirova. Stage pages: [Tekirova → Kuzdere (via Phaselis)](https://ghostofkas.com/lycian-way/tekirova-to-kuzdere/)
- Day 2: Tekirova to Çıralı along the coast — 20 km, +350 m, moderate. Night: Guesthouse, Çıralı. Walked in the opposite direction to the stage page. Stage pages: [Çıralı → Tekirova](https://ghostofkas.com/lycian-way/cirali-to-tekirova/)
- Day 3: Olympos over Musa Dağı to Adrasan — 15 km, +720 m, hard. Night: Hotel, Adrasan. The ruins of Olympos in the morning, then the big climb of the week. Stage pages: [Adrasan → Çıralı (via Olympos)](https://ghostofkas.com/lycian-way/adrasan-to-cirali/)
- Day 4: Gelidonya lighthouse to Karaöz — 21 km, +420 m, hard. Night: Guesthouse, Karaöz. Cape Gelidonya, the lighthouse and the five islands; long but the best day. Stage pages: [Karaöz → Adrasan](https://ghostofkas.com/lycian-way/karaoz-to-adrasan/)
- Day 5: Antalya museum, then departure — 3 km, easy. The Lycian rooms of the Antalya museum, then the airport.

## What the tour page does not tell you

- The trek walks east to west, the reverse of the guidebook and of our stage pages. The stage links above describe the same ground in the other direction; the climbs become descents.
- Days 2 and 4 are both over 20 km. In October that is fine; in a hot spring the Tekirova to Çıralı day starts early for a reason.
- Only two autumn departures are published. If neither works, the agency will price a private departure for four or more.

Plan this with us: Tell us your dates, how many of you there are and how far you like to walk in a day. We reply within a day with a plan and a price from a licensed local agency — guided or self-guided, luggage moved, beds booked. No payment on this site. mailto:ghost@ghostofkas.com?subject=Lycian%20Way%20%E2%80%94%20Eastern%205-day%20guided%20trek

## Questions people actually ask

### How hard is this compared with the Kaş trek?

Harder. Two days over 20 km and one 720 m climb, against 11 to 14 km days around Kaş. Regular hill walkers will enjoy it; first-timers should start with the Kaş or Fethiye sections.

### Do we see the Chimaera flames?

Not on the itinerary, but Çıralı is the village below Yanartaş and the guide can usually arrange an evening walk up on day 2. Ask.
