# Kaş to Limanağzı: the Lycian Way half-day everyone in Kaş should walk

If you walk one piece of the Lycian Way from Kaş, this is it. The path leaves the harbour, passes the last beach, and follows the cliffs east with Lycian tombs cut into the rock above you and Meis island floating alongside. In an hour and a half you are at Limanağzı, a bay with beach bars, clear water and no road, and the way home is a small boat.

The measured figures are 4.1 km, 130 m up and 125 m down, about an hour and twenty minutes without stopping. Continuing past Limanağzı to Üzümlü İskelesi makes a full stage of around 14 km and a wild night on the shore.

## Ghost cities on this stage

- **Antiphellos necropolis** — Lycian rock tombs in the cliffs above the path in the first kilometre out of town.
- **Sebeda** — a small ruin field near Limanağzı with tombs above the bay; unmarked and unfenced.

## The rope step

There is one short rock step before Limanağzı with a fixed rope. It is not difficult, but it is the reason the stage is graded moderate rather than easy and the reason to wear shoes rather than sandals. Children who are used to scrambling manage it; dogs need lifting. On the 13A variant, higher up, you avoid it and get the view instead.

## Walk out, boat back

In season water taxis shuttle between the Limanağzı beach bars and Kaş harbour through the afternoon. The timetable and the fare change every year and we will publish the current ones each spring; until then, ask at the harbour before you set off so you know the last boat. Out of season there may be no boat at all, in which case you walk back the same way, which is no hardship.

## Continuing to Üzümlü İskelesi

Beyond Limanağzı the path climbs again and follows the coast to Üzümlü İskelesi, a landing place with a shepherd’s hut and nothing else. This is the official end of Route 13 and a wild camp; there is no bed and no water.
