# Kabak to Alınca: the steepest climb on the western Lycian Way

Short on the map and long in the legs. From Kabak the trail climbs almost without a break to the ridge, then hugs the cliff top to Alınca, a village of stone houses and terraces that looks over the whole Seven Capes coast. The measured figures are 6.4 km, 875 m up and 380 m down, four hours.

The waterfall variant, 4B, starts at the beach instead of the village and is a little gentler at about 6 km and three and a half hours, but it is still a climb from sea level to 700 m.

## Water between Kabak and Bel

This is the stage where water planning starts to matter. Fill at Kabak. The fountains marked on the way up are seasonal and have been dry in October. Alınca has a well. After Alınca, the only running water reported until Kınık is at the mosques of Bel and Dodurga, so the next two days are carried water.
