Kaş has a long season by Mediterranean standards — you can swim from May into November — but the town changes character month to month. The honest sweet spots are June and September.
May and June: the coast waking up
May is warm days, fresh evenings and a sea around 19–21°C — swimmable if you are keen, glorious if you are a walker or diver. June is the first sweet spot: sea around 24°C, everything open, light that photographers cross continents for, and crowds still merciful.
May is also the best month for the Lycian Way and for the inland ruins, before the heat makes midday walking a bad idea.
July and August: full summer
Peak heat, peak sea, peak everything else. Air sits in the mid-30s, water climbs to about 27–28°C in August, boats are fullest and paragliding slots go fastest — book activities a couple of days ahead. It is hot for canyon-and-ruin days, perfect for anything that involves being wet every twenty minutes.
September and October: the second summer
September is the other sweet spot, and arguably the best month of all: the sea holds near 26–27°C, evenings soften, and the July crowds are a memory. October keeps a genuinely warm sea, around 23–24°C, with quiet bays and shoulder-season prices; some boats and flights thin out late in the month.
For divers September is the peak of the year — warm water, the best visibility of the season and far fewer boats overhead.
