Sunken City sea kayaking
Paddle directly over the walls and stairs of the sunken city.
Boats have to keep their distance from the ruins — kayaks do not. On a guided sea-kayak route from Üçağız you glide directly over Dolchiste’s submerged walls, staircases and doorways, close enough to trace them through the water, while your guide tells the story of the earthquake that drowned a harbour town.
No experience is needed: the channel is sheltered, the kayaks are stable doubles, and the pace is set for looking, not racing. Morning departures get the glassiest water. Most tours include the road transfer from Kaş, a safety briefing, and swim breaks in permitted coves along the way.

Questions people actually ask
Do I need kayaking experience?
No. Tours use stable double kayaks in a sheltered channel, with a briefing before you launch. If you can sit and paddle gently, you can do this.
Can kayaks really go over the Sunken City?
Yes — guided kayak groups may paddle across the surface above the ruins, which boats and swimmers cannot do. You look straight down onto walls and stairs a paddle-stroke below.
How fit do I need to be?
Average fitness is plenty. The classic route is 2–3 unhurried hours on flat water with breaks; longer routes exist for those who want them.
What should I bring?
Swimsuit, sun protection, water and a hat. Phones travel in the guide’s dry bag; water shoes are handy for the shoreline.
